Workshop Spotlight: TREE ID WALK

TREE ID WALK

Learn to identify our forest trees during this walking tour and exploration of Our Haven Nature Sanctuary. Interested children are welcome, but must be accompanied by an adult. Please dress appropriately for the weather and in shoes suitable for walking and standing for an hour. We will meet at the Welcome Tent and walk from there wherever our hearts and the trees lead us.

Dan Garner

Dan Garner is from West Lafayette and studied General Agriculture at Purdue University. He operated the Buena Vista Maple Sugar Co. for twenty-five years and he presently lives on twenty-six acres near Bloomington. He grows fruit, veggies and nuts including: black walnuts, chestnuts, hickory nuts and pecans. Twenty acres of his land is covered in forest with many Sugar Maples that he has tapped in the past and which he plans to tap again in the future.
