THE HERBAL GARDEN
Learn the basics of seed starting, planting, maintaining, and harvesting some of our most common herbs. There will also be an overview of "weeds" and how to use them. This is a hands on class. Please bring gloves and trowels if you want to participate.
Hetty Mayer-MacDowell
Hetty lives in northern Illinois, where she works her amazing 1/3 acre plot of land, converting it into a mini green oasis. She has worked with plants and herbs since the late 70's. Hetty has taken this knowledge of plants and herbs and combined it with her other passion for volunteering by working as a Master Gardener at the Lake County Extension Office of the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana. This will be her 9th year with the MWHF. When she is not in the garden she works as a massage therapist, Reiki practitioner and priestess in the Chicago area.
